Bertrand Le Roux is Roaming Solutions Director at Gemalto, in charge of roaming offer development and promotion.
With 1.7 billion euro revenues in 2009, Gemalto is the World leader in digital security and smart card-based solutions.

B Le Roux has been deeply involved in the introduction and the deployment of innovative applications and software solutions to the mobile phone industry for 15 years, through various senior sales and marketing positions in Gemplus and in Gemalto.
Bertrand is graduated from Marseilles Business School and Aix Economics University.

Pradeep Bhardwaj, Technology Program Director, Syniverse

As technology program director for Syniverse, Pradeep Bhardwaj oversees the development, use and evaluation of leading-edge technologies and standards, while  providing guidance and expertise on strategic thrusts for the company and on the subjects of emerging technologies and trends. Mr. Bhardwaj also is chair of the GSM Association’s Hubbing Provider Interworking Group, a group that drives hubbing initiatives within the mobile industry. His career spans more than 18 years in the areas of GSM, fixed-line, international carrier, satellite and data communications, and intelligent networks with emphasis on technology strategy, telecom standards, systems engineering and architecture. Mr. Bhardwaj is based in the United Kingdom and has a bachelor’s degree with distinction in electronics and telecommunications engineering.

Mary Clark, VP- Financial Clearing, Syniverse Technologies

Mary Clark joined Syniverse in June 2009 as Vice President of Clearing and Fraud Control. With more than 15 years experience in the mobile industry, Ms. Clark is responsible for Syniverse’s data clearing, financial clearing and roaming fraud solutions. Prior to joining Syniverse, Ms. Clark served in a number of executive-level positions at MACH. In addition, she has experience working for both mobile technology providers and for mobile operators, having spent time with CTIA-The Wireless Association, Cibernet and CellularOne. Ms. Clark earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Delaware, and she previously served as  the leader of the CIBER standard for about 10 years.

Erhan Donmez, Roaming Department Manager, Avea

Erhan has been working as Roaming Department Manager at Avea since April 2010, responsible for international calls, retail and wholesale roaming. Erhan has an  engineering background - graduated from Bogazici University - and completed his Executive MBA program at Koc University in 2007. He began his professional career at Bayer Corp as Sales Executive in 2001. Between 2003-2004 he has  served as After Sales Area Manager at Mercedes Benz and between 2004-2007 he has served as Sales and Marketing Specialist at Uzel Group. Prior to joining  Avea, he has worked as Senior Account Manager in International Roaming at Turkcell for 3 years.

FITORI,  Erzsebet, Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs, ECTA

Erzsébet Fitori is Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs at ECTA, the trade association representing over 100 competitive operators across Europe.
Prior to joining ECTA in February 2008 she was Head of Regulatory Affairs at Telenor Hungary in Budapest.
Erzsébet’s early career saw her as an Assistant Professor in the Department of European Law and Private International Law at the University of Miskolc in Hungary, following traineeships at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt and at law firm Baker & McKenzie in Budapest.
Erzsébet holds an LL.M. in European Community Law from Leiden University and a Degree in Law from the University of Miskolc, Hungary. In addition to her native  Hungarian she speaks excellent English and intermediate level German.

Fabio Colasanti, President of the International Institute of Communications (London, UK) since April 2010, Fabio Colasanti, born in 1946, was previously a Director General in the European Commission for over ten years.

He headed first the department called “Enterprise” from January 2000 to June 2002 and, from July 2002 to March 2010, was in charge of the department for "Information Society and Media". This department is responsible for developing and overseeing European regulatory policies for electronic communications and for the audiovisual sector, as well as promoting a faster take up of Information and Communication Technologies throughout the European Union.

Prior to this appointment, from June 1999 to the end of 1999, he was Deputy Head of the Office of Commission President Romano Prodi and from the beginning of 1996 until June 1999 a Director in the European Commission's “Budget” department, with responsibility for the “Resources”  Directorate.

Previously, from 1988 to the end of 1995, Mr Colasanti served successively as Head of the “Economic Forecasts” and “Macro-economic policy analysis” units of the Commission's department for Economic and Financial Affairs. In 1992, he studied local development issues in the USA during a three months trip across 18 states, thanks to an Eisenhower Fellowship.

From 1985 to the end of 1987, Mr. Colasanti was a member of the Commission’s Spokesman’s Group with responsibility for economic and monetary affairs, regional policy, credit and investment, small and medium-sized enterprises (the portfolios of Commissioners Alois Pfeiffer and Abel Matutes).

From October 1977 to 1984, Mr Colasanti worked as an economist in the Commission's department for Economic and Financial Affairs (budgetary policies, monitoring of the Italian economy, short-term forecasts, European Monetary System and the Ecu).

From 1971 to 1977, he held various positions with Italcable Spa of Rome (an international telecommunications company that is now part of Telecom Italia).

Mr Colasanti holds diplomas in economics from the University of Rome and the College of Europe in Bruges. An Italian national, he works regularly in English and French, is fluent in German and Spanish and speaks some Greek.

Helen karapandzic, Senior Analyst, Analysys Mason

Helen Karapandzic is a Senior Analyst with the Custom Research team at Analysys Mason and has managed a broad range of custom projects looking at growth opportunities for mobile services in emerging markets, including mobile payment, M2M, and mobile broadband. She was the Project Manager of a recent regulatory study on roaming in SADC on behalf of the Communications Regulators' Association of Southern Africa (CRASA), which included benchmarking of retail tariffs and IOTs, as well as broad-reaching analysis of regulation, consumer awareness, service delivery and market performance. She has spoken at a number of industry conferences, and has been quoted in both national and industry press.
Prior to joining Analysys Mason, Helen was Business Development Manager for an international asset management company, where she was responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). She has also held positions with Cambridge Investment Research (an independent, Cambridge-based strategy consultancy) and eBay AG. Helen has an MA in Modern Languages from the University of Cambridge.

Giorgio Miano, Vice President, Coverage and Value-Added Services, Syniverse

Giorgio Miano was named vice president of coverage and value-added services for Syniverse’s roaming line of business in October 2009. Prior to this position, he served as the General Manager for the company’s regional operations in the Caribbean and Latin America and as Director of Sales in the EMEA market. Mr. Miano joined Syniverse from Wind Telecomunicazioni in Rome, Italy, where he  held positions as a roaming manager and international carrier manager. Previously Mr. Miano worked for Exxon in Italy and had experiences in the development sector in Africa and South America. After graduating from the University La Sapienza of Rome with an advanced degree in business and economics, Mr. Miano continued his formal education by earning a master's degree in cooperation and international development from the University of Pavia in Italy. In 2005, he also attended in the Accelerated Development Program at the London Business School in the United Kingdom.

Nick White, Executive Vice President, International Telecommunications Users Group (INTUG)

Nick White has spent over 35 years in international telecommunications. He was the project manager of the original Reuter Monitor from early 1973, a system which spread to a worldwide network that transformed the way in which foreign exchange dealing was conducted. It was during these early years that INTUG was formed by national user associations, Reuters, SWIFT, SITA and other global companies, to lobby for competitive provision of telecommunications facilities internationally.

Nick became active in UK regulatory affairs in the early 1980s, after joining Midland Bank to build a second worldwide network, this time in banking in the years prior to the HSBC merger. During  his time there, he chaired a subsidiary company, Midland Network Services, which competed with BT for value added network services.  He chaired the UK Telecommunication Managers Association (known as TMA) from 1990-93. He rejoined the Board of the UK User Group (now known as CMA) in 2006.

Following his move to Unilever in 1991, he built his third global network, this time linking Unilever’s FMCG operations in 100 countries. Whilst there, he began serving as a Vice Chairman of INTUG. During his time at Unilever, he managed their IT Y2k programme and was involved at industry level in advising on the particular needs of telecoms for Y2k.

Since retiring from Unilever in 2006, Nick has worked as an independent consultant, focusing on telecommunications regulatory affairs, advising companies on  supplier selection and contracting, and representing business user at national and international level in regulatory debates. He is a regular speaker at conferences, and represents business users at the European Parliament, and at the European Commission.

Nick White is a mathematics graduate of Oxford University and lives near London.

Robert Mourik, Director Regulatory Policy Europe

Robert Mourik is the Director Regulatory Policy Europe. He is responsible for formulating EU related policy and coordinating the regulatory policy of the European operating businesses of Telefónica.
He studied Economic History and Politics at the Erasmus University in his native Rotterdam (Netherlands) and the University of Hull (UK).
After a career with the Dutch Department of Telecommunications and as Telecom Attaché in the Permanent Representation in Brussels, he joined Vodafone in 1999. Until 2004 he held various positions in Brussels and Newbury, amongst others as Head of the Brussels Office and as Director of Vodafone Belgium.
Before his move to Telefónica S.A. in May 2009, Robert was Head of Regulatory Affairs in O2 Ireland where he was also responsible for various strategic projects.

Robert Schumann, is a member of the Consulting Division of Analysys Mason, where he is part of the pricing, regulation and policy practice. In this capacity he has led projects to calculate the cost of services on mobile and fixed networks in Western and Eastern Europe and Africa on behalf of incumbent operators and regulators. Robert recently managed a large and wide-ranging project for the Botswana Telecommunications Authority on various aspects of pricing, policy and competitiveness, which also included work on developing a strategy to reduce high roaming tariffs in the SADC region. He contributed to Analysys Mason's recent study for the Communication Regulator's Association of Southern Africa (CRASA), and addressed a meeting of CRASA members on this topic in March 2010. In addition to this work in regulation and costing, Robert also has interests in the future Internet, next-generation access networks and telecoms investment appraisal. He has a doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Oxford

Stephen Breen – Senior Product Manager – BICS

Stephen has over a decade of experience in the telecommunications product management arena. His career has spanned the Mobile and Fixed Line industries, where he  has delivered many successful products, across multiple technologies. Prior to joining BICS, Stephen was a Product Manager with Cable & Wireless Ireland, and has previously held the position of Roaming Manager with Meteor Mobile, Ireland.
Based in Brussels, Stephen is responsible for numerous  BICS' Data Products such as; Instant Roaming (Open Connectivity), and Quality of Service monitoring.  Stephen holds a Master of Science qualification in Strategic Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland, and participates in a number of the GSMA Working Groups.
